Frequently asked questions
Shopiframe and plans
What is Shopiframe?
Shopiframe is a Framer plugin for building Shopify storefronts with customizable components, a synced product CMS, live cart behavior, and Shopify Checkout. You design the storefront in Framer while Shopify remains the source of truth for products, variants, prices, inventory, markets, orders, and payments.
Do I need a Shopify store to try Shopiframe?
No. Choose the Shopiframe Demo Store during setup to explore sample products, sync the CMS, and design with the same component workflow used by a connected store. You can connect your own Shopify store later from Store Configuration.
What do I need for a fully functional store?
A Shopify Basic plan or higher
A Framer Basic plan or higher
A Shopiframe Store Credit for the connected project
Shopify and Framer subscriptions are purchased separately from Shopiframe.
Is Shopiframe a replacement for Shopify?
No. Shopiframe gives you a Framer-based storefront and connects it to Shopify. Shopify still manages the catalog, inventory, orders, payments, and checkout.
What is a Store Credit?
A Store Credit allows one Shopiframe project to connect to a real Shopify store. The Demo Store does not require a Store Credit.
Setup and product data
How do I connect my Shopify store?
Sign in to Shopiframe, make sure a Store Credit is available, then open Store Configuration. Enter the .myshopify.com domain and public Storefront API access token created with Shopify’s Headless app. Follow the complete connection guide.
Which Shopify token should I use?
Use the public Storefront API access token from Shopify’s Headless app. Do not use an Admin API token, private Headless token, app secret, or Shopify password.
How do products sync with Shopify?
Shopiframe copies presentation content—such as titles, descriptions, images, collections, vendors, product types, tags, dates, and selected metafields—into the Framer CMS when you run Sync Products.
Commerce data such as prices, variants, availability, inventory, markets, and cart state is loaded live by Shopiframe components. Sync the CMS again after changing static product content in Shopify.
How do I connect a product component to CMS data?
Place the component inside a CMS Collection List item or product CMS page, then bind its Product Data property to the Shopiframe CMS Product Data field. Pass the value through every level when the Shopiframe component is nested.
Why are my products not showing?
Check that:
The expected Demo Store or Shopify store is active.
Shopify products are active and published to the Headless storefront.
The Shopiframe CMS collection has been synced with the current store.
The component is inside the correct CMS item or page.
Its Product Data is bound to the CMS Product Data field.
All Shopiframe components are up to date.
See Troubleshooting for step-by-step checks.
What does Shopiframe Custom Code do?
Shopiframe installs project-wide store configuration through Framer Custom Code so components can use the active store, market, language, and permissions in Preview and on the published site.
Features and compatibility
Are Shopiframe components customizable?
Yes. Shopiframe components are designed to be styled and arranged in Framer. Controls differ by component, and some let you connect your own Framer design instances for deeper customization.
Does Shopiframe support Shopify Markets?
Yes. Configure countries and currencies in Shopify Markets, then choose the default market and language in Shopiframe Store Configuration. Use the global Market components to let customers switch markets.
Can I sell subscriptions?
Yes, when the Shopify product has standard selling plans. Enable the required Storefront API permission, turn on Selling plans (Subscription) in Shopiframe, and use the Subscription component.
Can I use my existing Shopify apps?
Backend and checkout apps are often compatible. Theme blocks, Liquid snippets, and theme-injected widgets do not appear in a headless Framer storefront automatically. Read Shopify app compatibility and test every critical workflow before launch.
How do I update Shopiframe components?
Open Framer’s Assets tab, find the Shopiframe folder, and update every outdated component. Return to the plugin and run the setup check again.
Can I use Shopiframe for client projects?
Yes. Freelancers, agencies, and teams can use Shopiframe for client storefronts. Each real store connection needs the appropriate Store Credit.
What if I need a custom component or integration?
Email support@shopiframe.com or ask in the Shopiframe Discord community. Include the desired behavior, reference design, Shopify app or API documentation, and any important edge cases. Do not send private credentials.
